Felix culpa       happy fall

The ultimate Baroque paradox

O felix culpa quae talem et tantum meruit habere redemptorum

O happy fault that has received as its reward so great a redeemer.

(from the Easter Vigil Mass)

Paradox: The Fall as described in Gn 3 was actually a good thing because it set the stage for the coming of Christ and the redemption.

Evil leads to good

Every curse is a blessing
